You may recall how last year McCain strolled around a marketplace in Iraq to show how safe the place was. Naturally, he was accompanied by a hundred American soldiers, three Blackhawks, and two Apache helicopter gunships. (Just like the average Iraqi!)

As ThinkProgress notes, this year even that wasn't enough. (And yes, I understand that now the man is a leading candidate for President, but he was a pretty high profile senator last year too.)
